Q. Is my player eligible to play at Lakewood Ranch Little League?

A. Your player must reside within the LWRLL geographic territory which is: East of I75. North of University Parkway. South of the Manatee River. East to the Manatee County Line. There is a New Little League® Eligibility Rule - In an effort to accommodate Little Leaguers® playing with their classmates, and ease the burden on parents and guardians, Little League® recently amended its residency requirements to allow children to play in the local league whose boundaries where they attend school is located. For example, Little Leaguers who reside outside Lakewood Ranch Little  League boundaries and attend  Braden River and Freedom Elementary Schools as well as Braden River and Haile Middle Schools are now eligible to play at Lakewood Ranch Little League. Little League has created an official school enrollment form which can be downloaded from our Resources section.

Q. What is the minimum player age allowed at LWRLL?

A. The minimum age is 4. A player's Date of Birth must be prior to September 1, 2015.

Q. Can a 4 year old play Coach Pitch?

A. All 4 year olds must play Tee Ball.

Q. When do you play games?

A. League games are played nightly during the week. Typically, our game schedule is as follows but will be finalized prior to the start of the season based on enrollment:

Tee Ball Division: Tuesday and Friday nights 5:30pm-6:30pm
Coach Pitch Division: Tuesday and Friday nights 5:30pm-6:45pm
Machine Pitch Division: Monday and Thursday nights 5:30pm-6:45pm
Minors Division: Tuesday and Friday nights 7:00pm-9:00pm
Majors Division: Monday and Thursday nights 7:00pm-9:00pm
Intermediate Division: TBD 7:00pm
Juniors Division: Varies
Seniors Division: Varies

Q. When do you practice?

A. Practices are at Coach's discretion for Tee Ball and Coach Pitch Divisions on Saturday mornings.
Practices for Machine Pitch, Minors, Majors and Intermediate Divisions are typically held either on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings.
Practices for Juniors and Seniors Division are typically Tuesday or Friday evenings. 

Q. Which Divisions are draft based? Is tryout mandatory?

A. Minors, Majors, Intermediates and Juniors/Seniors are draft based and yes, there is a mandatory tryout in order to be eligible to play.

Q.      What is the draft procedure used by the league?

A.       LWRLL uses the Serpentine Draft Method, which takes place as follows: The managers draw numbers to determine who will 
           select the first player.  In a four team league, the manager who draws number one makes the following player selections: 1st              choice, 8th, 9th, 16th, 17th, 24th, 25, etc.; The manager who draws number two makes the 2nd choice, 7th, 10th, 18th, 23rd, 
           etc.; The manager who draws number three, 3rd choice, 6th, 11th, 14th, 19th, 22nd; The manager who draws number four, 
 4th choice, 5th, 12th, 13th, 20th, 21st, etc., until selections are complete.

Q. Are player fees refundable?

A. Fees are refundable up to the 1st week of the season subject to a 25% processing fee. Otherwise, fees are not refundable. Refunds as a result of player injuries are determined on a case by case basis.
